From the first glance it might seem like a good old ladylike collection with elegant silhouettes and feminine shapes. However, if you look closer it becomes clear that there is much more than that. For ss16, designer creates incredible mix of materials and textures: organza, transparent mesh and neopren. The collection doesn’t look too sweet as there is a hint of sensuality added by details like pleats, sheer tulle panelling, high slits and short hemlines. The girly palette of pastel pinks and fuchsias, balanced by black and white colour block. Overall this collection is very fresh, modern and sophisticated.

Favourite from NYFW- Altuzarra SS16
This season Joseph Altuzarra brings us relaxed elegance, taking his inspiration from the Charles Fréger’s pictures of rituals in Basque country, the place between France and Spain. Heritage of this place, where his family has roots, adds ethnicity to the ss16 collection. Keeping his sophisticated shapes, like the pencil skirts with high side splits and button-down blouses, he interprets pagan costumes of Basque people in his own way. Combining the feeling of the raw materials of linen tops and burlap skirts, he acheives those beautiful multi-textural and esoteric outfits. This collection defenetly feels more relaxed and laid-buck than his past, more dramatic works.
Favourite from NYFW- Jason Wu SS16
Elegant. Feminine. Light. Those are the first words that came into my mind when I first saw Jason Wu ss16 collection. Behind the details, like frills, ruffles and laces, hides well known laconic designs and simple shapes, inspired by American minimalism. The colour palette kept very fresh, reminding me of the awakening garden after the end of the winter season. Light, breathable fabrics balanced nicely with heavier ones, like leather. I think this is very beautiful and commercially successful collection. As always very pleased with work of Jason Wu.

Trying New Things
This summer I decided to do some things I’ve always wanted, but never really had a spare time for them. Drawing is one of them. I’m taking drawing classes twice a week and I just love it! I know I won’t become next Picasso or Monet, but I’m really enjoying it. There is something very soothing about drawing. You just getting lost in the process and your thoughts! I tried different tecniques but using colourful pens is by far one of my favourite.
What new things are you trying this summer? xx
